Discover the captivating art of KASPA

My paintings are inspired by places I have been to or by photographs that have sparked my curiosity. For example, a photograph from 1876 of the Statue of Liberty being constructed in Paris before being shipped to New York sparked my interest.

I also have a strong interest in WW2. My painting of the USS Oklahoma was inspired by photographs from a documentary I watched on Pearl Harbour. I also like paintings that have a story behind them. Oklahoma has an obvious momentous historical narrative.

The Bull of Wall Street has a great political story of how it was dumped illegally there in the first place by the artist.

All my paintings have a solid Cubist element. I have always been fascinated by trying to capture images from different angles on the same canvas. I like to fill every area of interest, so the viewer is not bored: cubism allows me to do this.

My works are large; all canvasses are 120cm wide, at least. I paint with water-based oil paints. A range of prints and cards can be found on Instagram @kaspaart. The prints can be ordered in any size, framed or unframed – just get in touch!
